Athletic Director
Harvest Preparatory School is seeking a full time Athletic Director for our Christian private school athletic program. Harvest Preparatory School is a division of World Harvest Church and is located in southeastern Franklin County suburb of Canal Winchester. We are the Warriors and we proudly hold many distinctions and titles in our athletic programs. Please see the Harvest Prep web site at www.harvestprep.org. Our athletic programs includes the following sports: Basketball, Football, Track & Field, Soccer, Cheerleading, Volleyball and Baseball. The Athletic Director has the responsibility for the compliance with all MSL, state and federal high school sports regulations/laws, hiring and supervising the coaching staff, and overseeing our state of the art sports facilities. Primary Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the total athletic program and enforce all compliance requirements.
  • Responsible for implementing and supervising programs relating to the community, parents and athletes. Ensure a stellar reputation in the league and community.
  • Develops and submits an annual budget. Works with the HPS Principal and Financial Controller to assure that the athletic budget if followed and managed.
  • Act as the school’s representative at MSL meetings.
  • Maintains positive relationships with parents, students, coaches, HPS Administration and Board.
  • Recruits coaching staff in partnership with HR and recommends hiring to the HPS Board.
  • Ensure athletic eligibility of all students and works to assure that all paperwork is complete and processed in a timely manner.
  • Oversee all athletic facilities and the use and care of those facilities including regular inspections, processes maintenance request. May assist in maintaining the athletic facilities from time to time. Maintains inventory of all sports equipment.
  • Promote good public relations between the Athletic Department, the Church and the general community.
  • Provide direct supervision over the coaching staff and evaluates the performance of the coaching staff for renewal and non-renewal.
  • Assure that all medical and referees are secured for each event.
  • Develop written policies and procedures for the program and conveys information to all coaches.
  • Prepare a master schedule for all athletic events and ensure that game schedules are printed and that communication to the Press, Radio and Secondary Office dealing with athletic events has been accomplished.
  • Oversee the use and coordination of the use of all the athletic facilities.
  • Coordinate all travel for athletic program.
  • To coordinate with the appropriate personnel the time for all program and half time activities at sporting events.
  • Coordinate with HPS Administration to assure that the Band Leader and Cheerleading Coach is kept updated on all sports events and regarding all Pep Rallies.
  • Alert school administration immediately as required by established procedure endures concerning compliance or conduct issues at sporting events both home and away.
  • Oversee fundraising and securing sponsorships.
  • To secure medical insurance for athletes and medical personnel for all athletic contests.
  • To supervise and organize the Booster Club and their budget; making recommendations to the Booster Club as to how they may assist the Athletic Program.
Primary Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management and 3-5 years of experience as an AD or assistant AD is required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Prior coaching experience.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in budget and finance.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and set priorities.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to handle tough issues.
  • Ability to work a variable schedule to perform all job duties. Evenings and weekend required.
  • All required licensure and certification (NH, First Aid, CPR, etc.).
Elementary Teacher
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education or a closely related field
  • Possess a valid state teaching license
  • Minimum of three years of teaching experience at the lower school level
  • Passion for teaching lower school students; possess the ability to differentiate instruction to reach all students
  • Current knowledge of Ohio Academic Content Standards
  • Christian, with a positive sense of humor, self-confidence, and effective oral and written communication skills
  • Experience as a class adviser, an extracurricular club/organization advisor and/or coach an interscholastic sport a plus
  • Successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check.
Expectations:
  • Assume a share of supervisory responsibilities expected of all lower school faculty members
  • Collaborate with team teacher on curriculum design and development
  • Teach classes as assigned following prescribed scope and sequence as scheduled by the administrator. Utilize valid teaching techniques to achieve curriculum goals within the framework of the school’s philosophy and incorporating all prescribed Ohio Academic Content Standards.
  • Plan broadly through the use of semester and quarterly plans and objectives, and ensure that daily lesson plans are properly posted on the on-line parent access database (RenWeb)
  • Employ a variety of instructional aids and technological resources as well as methods and materials that will provide for creative teaching to reach the whole child: spiritual, mental, physical, social and emotional
  • Integrate technology into lesson plans in compliance with the expectation outlined by school administration
  • Provide periodic updates to parents about student progress, via both written reports and in-person conferences
  • Maintain regular and accurate attendance and grade records to meet the demands for a comprehensive knowledge of each student’s progress. Ensure that grades are promptly entered into the parent access database (RenWeb) on an ongoing basis. Keep students, parents and administration informed of progress or deficiencies.
  • Create a positive and safe learning environment for all students and hold students accountable for conduct
  • Possess effective interpersonal skills and administrative skills; be a problem solver and be able to think outside the box
  • Work with others in the school community to support each student’s emotional well-being
  • Maintain personal professional development as a licensed educator; glean from experience and ideas of peer teachers
  • Attend all school staff meetings and professional development sessions; attend all World Harvest Church staff meetings.

School Cafeteria Job Openings (Full-Time and Part-Time)
Harvest Preparatory School, located in Canal Winchester, Ohio, currently has full–time and part–time openings for server, cashier and dishwasher in our school cafeteria.  Candidates must have a servant attitude, be a Christian professional, and a team player who demonstrates a sense of urgency.

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Prior experience working in a school cafeteria preferred.
  • Desire to work in a school setting.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and bend during the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Operating a POS (Point of Sale) and cash–handling skills a plus.

School Cafeteria Manager/Cook
Harvest Preparatory School, located in Canal Winchester, Ohio, is looking for an experienced full–time, Cafeteria Manager/Cook. Candidates must have a servant attitude, be a Christian, professional, and a team player who demonstrates a sense of urgency. We are looking for team members that will maintain a high level of customer service, cleanliness, and safety.

Primary Duties Include:
  • Organize and plan daily production of school meals, ensuring compliance with all state regulations for the National School Lunch Program. 
  • Supervise day–to–day operations of cafeteria staff.
  • Prepares food and beverage items according to standardized recipes and established food preparation procedures for the purpose of meeting mandated nutritional and projected meal requirements.
  • Monitor kitchen and cafeteria areas to ensure a safe and sanitary working environment.
  • Work closely with NSLP Coordinator to ensure that NSLP standards for menus, nutrition and portion size are adhered to.
  • Maintains equipment, storage, food preparation and serving areas in a sanitary condition as required by current health standards.
  • Supervises and participates in the cleaning and maintenance of all kitchen facilities and equipment.
  • Evaluate prepared food for flavor, appearance, and temperature.
  • Inspects food items and/or supplies for the purpose of verifying quantity, quality and specifications of orders and/or complying with mandated health standards.
  • Inventory food, condiments and supplies.
  • Maintain records and reports (e.g. counting and recording the amount of leftovers, number of opened cans, student lunch balances, collection and reconciliation of money, informing students of their lunch balances, etc.).
  • Receives food items and/or supplies and places them in designated areas utilizing temperature requirements and food spoilage guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Experience/Skills:
  • Associate Degree in Food Preparation of Culinary Arts Degree preferred, or high school diploma with solid cooking experience.
  • Minimum 3–years of experience managing in a cafeteria environment.
  • Servsafe Certified.
  • Prefer prior experience with cooking in a National School Lunch Program environment.
  • Solid math and computer skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Substitute Teachers

Substitute Teacher Responsibilities
  • Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions toward others and develop and maintain rapport with students, parents, and staff by treating others with friendliness, dignity, and consideration.

  • In the absence of the regular classroom teacher to help students to learn subject matter and/or skills that are required for scheduled lessons and to provide meaningful instruction for assigned classrooms.
  • Carries out a program of study prescribed in the lesson plans left by the classroom teacher and has the ability to provide meaningful learning in the absence of a lesson plan.
  • Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. Indicates to students at beginning of class the basic expectations for behavior in the class in accordance with school policies.
  • Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives as indicated in the lesson plans for the lessons, units, or projects assigned.
  • Reports to school office at beginning of school day to pick up required materials/schedule of classes and at the end of the school day to return materials. Follows sign out procedures as prescribed by the principal.
  • Employs instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting lesson objectives.
  • Maintains a neat, orderly and safe classroom.
  • Takes attendance in accordance with school procedures.
  • Insures that the students are never left unattended in the classroom.

Primary Requirements
  • Performs other related duties as directed.

  • Must possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
